If we were to describe him in three words, they will be commitment, innovation and technology.  Ricardo Alcocer has 18+ years of experience in the software development industry, focusing on Internet technologies. He is a programmer for web and desktop applications for Windows, Mac and Linux as well as for iOS and Android mobile platforms.

Ricardo has held positions as Programming Director, Production Director and Senior Technology Consultant for companies such as Smithkline Beecham, Spiderlink/Centennial Data Services, PRTC, NOBOX, Grupo Ferré-Rangel, and has been a professor at the Universidad Politécnica and Universidad del Sagrado Corazón.  He is Managing Partner of Aranay Technology Corp. a technology firm specializing on client- server software, webbased applications, content management systems and mobile applications.

Ricardo’s infrangible desire to share knowledge and grow Puerto Rico’s technological community led him to publish the book “Economía y Productividad con Software Libre” and to establish Tecnologia Libre, a non-for-profit  educational organization that promotes technological entrepreneurship through the use of Open Source Software. He appears on the local media promoting Open Standards and teaches courses on web and mobile software development.

Ricardo holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences from the Bayamón campus of the University of Puerto Rico and belongs to several technology advisory boards.
