I’ve been producing software for over 18+ years, and I’ve personally developed client-server software for Window, Mac and Linux, as well as online platforms and mobile apps for iOS and Android.

I’ve held positions as Programming Director, Production Director and Senior Technology Consultant for several Internet Companies and TELCOs, and have been a professor at the Universidad Politécnica and Universidad del Turabo.

From 2001 through 2012, I was Managing Partner of Aranay Technology Corp. a technology firm specializing on client- server software, web-based applications, content management systems and mobile applications.

In 2009 I published the book Economía y Productividad con Software Libre and created Tecnologia Libre, a non-for-profit educational organization that promotes technology entrepreneurship through the use of Open Source Software.

In 2010 I co-founded a startup named TainoApp, a content syndication platform and mobile apps production firm that allowed publishers to have instant native mobile apps for their web properties without disrupting their editorial cycle.

I currently work for Appcelerator, Inc. as Lead Developer Evangelist, where I handle evangelism efforts for Titanium, the free and open source framework for native mobile development.

As a side project, I’m  writing a book about developing native cross-platform applications using Titanium for Manning Publishing, which should come out by the end of 2014.

For longer than I care to remember I’ve been a magician, although I no longer perform, and I’m an active member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians.

When I’m not coding or doing magic tricks, I’m probably listening to progressive metal or playing my electric guitar.
